ichthyology
RESEARCH & COLLECTIONSThe Ichthyology Section was established in 2001 and houses over 300 Zambian and Southern Africa fish specimens. The museum would like to have a representative collection of most of the fish species found in Zambia. This is imperative due to changes in aquatic biodiversity due to several external factors which is impacting on fish diversity and populations. The section is mainly interested in studies related to fish of commercial value, their distribution and abundance in Zambian water bodies.
